How we're helping
We're helping rebuild the playground in Insul.
The catastrophic flooding in the Ahr river valley in July of 2021 also did extreme damage in the village of Insul,
where the popular children's playground was completely destroyed. Mareike Keuler, a resident and the owner of a country inn in Insul, has initiated a compelling fund-raising campaign to re-place it.
The concept:
Local reconstruction with global SOCIAL IMPACT. Mareike Keuler created Playground Presents that raise money to finance a new playground while at the same time raising awareness for a more sustainable approach to the environment. In addition to the destruction the floods caused, they also deposited mountains of refuse in the Ahr valley.
So there are two good reasons to buy Playground Presents: Each package contains a surprise made by children from Insul and some sweets donated by Haribo, along with "Share" brand colored pencils made from recycled trash. What's more, for each set of colored pencils, Share will donate one hour of instruction for a child somewhere in the world – and the QR code on the packaging tells you exactly where.

To support this project,
we have purchased one Playground Present on behalf of each of our employees. That's 75 packages! We are also making a financial contribution to the construction of the new playground by donating a swing set. Best of all, our 75 Playground Presents will be donated to another project in the Ahr valley.
A smile for the children of Hönningen. Or how about 75 smiles?
The disastrous flooding in the Ahr river valley also left its mark on Hönningen,
where the town's kindergarten is still out of operation. We wanted to do something special for the children there, and will be sending our 75 Playground Presents from Insul up-river to Hönningen.
But that's not all:
Our employees are writing personal messages to the kids – and we're adding a cuddly little Sorgenfresser ("Worry Eater") doll to each package.
We plan to personally hand over the 75 packages directly to the children at a small event in Hönningen.
